When is an apron more than just an apron? When it’s a Madmade® apron. It’s always a perk to try things out, and I’m so glad for the recent opportunity in trying out one of these nifty aprons. I can’t say enough about it. First, let me just say that if you’re a cook or entertain a lot, this is definitely a great addition to your current apron repertoire. You may even want to replace the others. Why, you ask?
This apron isn’t your average everyday apron. Nope, it’s so much more. For one thing, it’s reversible with a number of color and design options available – I tried out the Garden Sketch design. You’ll love the bright colors, not only in the kitchen but in the garden too. That’s right! This is an apron that lends itself well into the garden setting. With its full-width divided pockets (on both sides), you have plenty of room to stash your phone and other essentials. Whether you’re cooking and needing a place to keep necessary utensils handy or out in the garden harvesting goodies to cook up later, these pockets are great for playing double duty. I’m even thinking of wearing mine when I start seeds this year or begin potting up new plants. Not only will it protect my clothing and provide a quick towel-like substitute for wiping my hands off, but those wonderful pockets will be perfect for holding seed packets, plant labels, scissors and more.
So now you’re probably thinking about my reasoning in wearing this apron out in the garden. Won’t it be too hot? Will it come loose or tear easily outdoors? What about comfort? From what I can tell thus far, I think it will hold up just fine. It’s made of high-quality, 100% cotton (quilter’s grade) right here in the USA. And as for comfort, again, this isn’t your ordinary wrap around your neck apron. It’s tunic style, fitting more like a smock with long ties that can be adjusted to wrap around your waist, tying in the front, back or sides. After I tried mine on, it was so soft and comfy (straight out of the package) that I forgot I was even wearing it.
If I haven’t convinced you to give it a try yet, then here’s another plus. The company helps give back with a portion of each apron sold donated to the Ceres Community Project, a non-profit that delivers nutritious meals to low-income people. So not only are you getting an apron that is stylish, comfortable and has a number of uses, but you will also be helping those in need. A win-win for everyone!
