Gardening is one of the most popular hobbies worldwide. It’s not only enjoyable, but there’s just something special about being close with nature, like watching your seedling babies grow and produce on their own – almost family in a way. Yet, with all these treasured moments, gardening does have its downsides. Did you know that approximately 80% of all gardeners report being injured in some way every year or that about ¾ of all cumulative stress injuries in the garden are to the wrist and hand? Poor tool designs are generally to blame, but the garden industry is responding by making garden tools easier to use, and Radius Garden is at the top of the list.
Before tackling what they do, it may help for you to have a little background info on how Radius Garden got started – you know, that lightbulb moment. The founder of the company grew up around gardening, with both grandmothers having been avid gardeners. Plants, gardens and the work that came with this were in his blood. But it wasn’t until noticing the painful blisters on the hand of a co-worker, from planting a flat of flowers, that the “lightbulb” began flickering.
Garden tools, like the commonly used trowel every gardener deems a necessity, could and should have been designed better. We may use them as intended but still we suffer the ill effects – the blisters, the aching, even the repetitive stress injuries. And so the ergonomic Radius Garden products were born.
Unlike other tool designs throughout history, driven more by convenience rather than ergonomics, Radius Garden focuses on concept that “the grip should conform to the structure of your hand and the angle of attack when using the tool should naturally place your wrist(s) in a safe, neutral position.” After all, the word “ergonomic” means “to work naturally,” so why not design a more natural gardening tool. But don’t other companies claim the same thing? Yes, there are a number of “ergo-nonsense” claims floating around but the Patented, Natural Radius Grip™ tool design is no nonsense. Their ergonomic gardening tools maximize power and comfort while minimizing hand and wrist stress. Gardening not only becomes easier, but more enjoyable once again.
While we may love to be out in our gardens, we would rather not have the injuries that can come along with it. Now they don’t have to. We have Radius Garden and that “lightbulb” moment to thank for that. By designing better, high-quality tools for the job at reasonable prices, gardeners can avoid those blisters and other stress injuries, and simply work naturally in the garden.
