As gardeners, we usually don’t consider  how much time is eaten up by the frustrating task of hooking garden hoses onto fixtures every time we irrigate, often several times in a single day – day after day after day. While nobody likes fussing with hoses and fixtures, we do it because we have to. It’s just a necessary aspect of life for gardeners. At least until Aquor Water Systems stepped in and made life easier with the House Hydrant V1.
What is the House Hydrant?
The House Hydrant is a revolutionary system for connecting hoses efficiently. It’s really relatively simple, consisting of a neat and tidy hydrant easily installed to sit flush with any type of siding. The hydrant is unobtrusive and available in a variety of colors to match your house or your landscape design – so there’s no need to worry about anything sticking out like a sore thumb. There’s also no need in worrying about cleanup, as an attached cover swings shut when the hydrant isn’t in use, which prevents dust, leaves and other debris from clogging the system.
The heavy-duty, easy-grip polymer connector is designed to be used with any garden hose (or you can attach the removable faucet accessory if you simply want to fill a bucket without a hose). The only moving piece is a stainless steel inner rod that operates the hydrant’s rear closure. The rod is available in a number of lengths, which you select depending on your home’s wall depth and clearance, and the severity of your winters. A simple valve, designed to drain quickly to prevent damage by freezing, springs shut in the event of loss of water pressure.
How Will the House Hydrant Make Life Easier?
The Aquor House Hydrant isn’t deemed the “world’s most practical and efficient water outlet” for nothing. It offers many key features that can make your watering tasks much easier. Among these include:
- Flush-mount and low-profile design, no unsightly attachments to worry with.
- Simple installation and low maintenance, leaving more time for gardening.
- Allows you to connect garden hoses instantly, eliminating constant handling of fixtures.
- 100% leak-proof design, keeping water where it’s supposed to be.
- Freeze-proof to -30 degrees F. (-34 C.), no foam covers needed and no frozen plumbing.
For gardeners (and other folks, too), the hydrant’s primary benefit is its ease of use. All it takes to hook up a hose is a simple twist of the wrist. If, however, you’re concerned that somebody might use your water system when you aren’t around (or if your kids might engage in a poorly timed water fight), just remove the connector and set it inside until you’re ready to use the hydrant again.
Thanks to the internal valve and a unique twist-lock design, the hydrant won’t drip or leak. The entire setup is wear-resistant and the polymer connector has been tested to survive at least 5,000 connections. (That’s a lot, even for dedicated gardeners.) There are no brass components and absolutely no lead is used in any part of the construction. Best of all, the House Hydrant V1 saves gardeners considerable time that can be better spent doing more enjoyable, productive tasks in the garden, and that’s a very good thing.
